NAALA SORRELL
Theater Director, actor
Hi.
My name is Naala Sorrell. I am a theater actor and director. I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and am currently living in Liverpool, England. I am interested in theater being a reflection of society and therefore inherently political. I am excited by the power for social change that comes from people of all different backgrounds coming to watch the same show with an important message. I have directed across genres. From The Commedia Pinochio- an a capella musical that toured schools in southern california, to babyskin a one woman show about navigating girlhood and sexual assault as a trans woman which premeried in 2026 at Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and is being taken to The Fringe in 202, to The Eviction a devised play about the Hai//om San people in namibia being evicted from their ancestral land during apartheid, to a short film with The Ollie Webb Center, Cry, Laugh, Rage about people with developmental disabilities navigating emotions and how we integrate all the parts of ourselves that come with being humans. I am graduating in 2027 from Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts with a BA honors in Acting(Musical Theater). I want to have a career full of telling important stories.
